I am grateful to live in Malaysia. Malaysia is a bubbling, bustling melting pot of races and religions where Malays, Chinese, Indians, and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony.
I am also glad I have a change to study in my mother tongue in this multi-racial and multi-religious country. I studied in a Chinese-medium primary school and now I study in a Chinese-medium Independent high school. I am a boarder.
I am grateful to have good parents. They make me work and do not need a maid or domestic help. They also let me be independent by letting me live in school hostel. My father let me work in his company, I accompany him to interview customers and accompany lorry drivers to deliver cargo. My parents are my role models—they don’t smoke, gamble, waste money and stay away from drugs.
I feel so thankful to have many friends. I am so glad to have friends who live together in the same hostel. I have friends to talk to, play with or share things with. So I feel less lonely. My friends understand my feelings, experiences, dreams, hopes and fears. They are loyal and true. When I go on the wrong path, they warn me. They advise me and sometimes they quarrel with me, but this quarrel does not affect our friendship. I always appreciate my friends I know they are trying to make me a better person.
These are the things I am grateful for.
